He never slumbers

Blue Skies Never Stop

One of my morning verses this week hit me in a new way.

Psalm 121:1-3

1 I lift up my eyes to the hills—
where does my help come from?

2 My help comes from the Lord,
the Maker of heaven and earth.

3 He will not let your foot slip—
he who watches over you will not slumber;

I just love the second part of verse three, don’t you?

Imagine a Heavenly Father who watches over us in constant vigil. Imagine a God who never turns His eyes from His children.

For the word us I will change to the first person, and you should too!

As I get around in the morning God is watching over me. As I sit at a stop light contemplating how I will manage my day, God is looking upon me. While I rest in bed with my eyes closed, God is looking at me.

I have a hard time concentrating on one thing for more than a few minutes; maybe a few hours for a movie or something similar.

It is impossible for me to imagine God watching me for hours, days and even years, but He does.

Psalm 16:8

8 I have set the Lord always before me.
Because he is at my right hand,
I will not be shaken.

Be encouraged today! God is an ever vigilant watchman!

  1. I LOVE this post! How completely comforting to know that our Father is ever watching over us – not to catch us doing wrong but to help us and protect us and perhaps even to enjoy us. (smile) I love my Daddy! (Thank you James.)

    • Thank you very much!

Isn’t it fun when a verse like this grabs us in a new way?

Thanks for reading the blog. I miss hearing your “Amen” in church.
